Belleville police have confirmed a fatality in a serious collision on Saturday.
In a release, police say they, as well as Belleville Fire and Hastings Quinte Paramedics, responded to the collision on Dundas Street West at around 11:25 p.m.
A 19-year-old Belleville male was extracted from his vehicle and taken to Kingston General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say after an investigation, 49-year-old John Golka of Quinte West was arrested and charged.
The charges were not made available by police.
He was held for a bail hearing.
On Sunday afternoon, the 19-year-old, identified as Samuel Brown, succumbed to his injuries.
Belleville police say the investigation remains ongoing and updates will be provided as they become available.
