With Daylight Saving Time coming this weekend, Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services is reminding residents to change the batteries in their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
The clocks are set to move forward at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 8.
People are advised to replace the alarm batteries when you set clocks forward, and vacuum away any dust to ensure the alarms are working properly.
Residents are also advised to review their household emergency plans, so people know what to do in case of emergencies.
