Northumberland OPP have arrested and charged a man following an investigation into intimate partner violence.
On Monday, officers received a report about a domestic incident that was in progress at a location in Hamilton Township.
After an investigation, a 44-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate, or strangle.
The accused is not being named to protect the identity of the victim. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
