The City of Quinte West has declared a significant weather event under Ontario Regulation 239/02 due to the high volume of snow and challenging conditions.
During the significant weather event, the city is advising motorists, pedestrians and residents to use extra caution as the municipality may not be able to meet its maintenance standards for roads and sidewalks due to the significant amount of snow accumulation in the area over the last 24 hours. The declaration will not change how or when the city performs its winter maintenance operations, however, it may take longer than usual to clear the roads and sidewalks. Public safety is the top priority.
The City of Quinte West will update the public with information during this significant weather event as it becomes available.
