The speed limit has been lowered on Dundas Street East and West in Belleville.
In September, council approved a recommendation from the Transportation Committee to change the speed limit on Dundas Street from 60 km/hour to 50 km/hour between Sienna Avenue in the west and Haig Road in the east.
The change is effective October 10.
The city says this will provide a consistent speed limit on Dundas Street through the urban area of the city.
It is also consistent with the speed limit on other four-lane arterial roads within urban city limits.
New 50 km/hour regulatory speed limit signs are being posted to notify motorists of the speed limit change.
