A new comprehensive respiratory illness dashboard is now available online on Hastings Prince Edward Public Health’s website.
Information regarding the incidents of COVID-19, influenza, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) will be updated on Tuesdays.
For the week of September 22 to 28 there were two new cases of COVID-19 reported, none for influenza or RSV.
Meanwhile, eight people were being treated in hospital for COVID-19, down from twelve the week before. One person was in hospital with the flu.
There were three hundred visits to emergency departments by people with respiratory issues, up from 247 the week before.
Two new COVID-19 outbreaks were announced bringing the total to six. All outbreaks are for COVID-19. Of the six outbreaks, five are in long-term care or retirement homes and one is in the Quinte 5 unit at Belleville General Hospital.
Data only includes cases reported to public health so numbers will be lower than those actually being experienced in the community.
