A sentence has been handed down against the man responsible for the fire at the Thrashers Garden Centre in Belleville.
On Wednesday Justice John Bonn sentenced David Robertson, after the then 52-year-old plead guilty to arson charges.
On the evening of Sunday August 20, 2023 , Belleville Fire responded to the garden centre, which is at the corner of North Front and Harriett streets.
Much of the business’s main building was completely destroyed.
Justice Bonn sentenced Robertson to one day in jail, in addition to the 11 plus months he has been in custody.
Robertson was also sentenced to three years probation.
