Belleville police say a steer is on the loose in the east end.
In a release, police say the steer is said to be owned by a resident in the area of Elmwood Drive and Airport Parkway. It got loose from its enclosure in mid-July.
It is advised not to approach the animal as it is “not particularly friendly.”
The steer is described as black and white.
Staff with the City of Belleville are working to develop a plan to address the loose steer.
Anyone who sees the steer is asked to contact the City of Belleville’s Transportation Operations Services at 613-967-3275. The number is also monitored after-hours by city staff.
If there is immediate public concern regarding the steer, the public is asked to contact 911 and police will respond.
