The Hastings/Quinte Long-Term Care Committee approved a recommendation to Hastings County Council for proposed staffing enhancements to Hastings Manor and Hastings Centennial Manor.
The staffing enhancements will be fully funded through the Ministry of Long-Term Care’s Level of Care investments.
Centennial Manor will receive $512,720.69 while Hastings Manor is set to receive $1,190,545.44.
Here is a breakdown of how the funding would be dispersed:
Centennial Manor
Program and Support Additional Funding $18,804.50
- One part-time Recreation Aide to full-time
- Additional evening Recreation Aide hours
Nursing and Personal Care Additional Funding – $287,395.72
- Additional two full-time PSW positions
- Convert BSO RPN part-time position to full-time
- Supplement MOLTC Nurse Practitioner funding to aid in recruitment
- 3.75 hours of care
Other Accommodation Additional Funding – $171,517.50
- Offset Program and Support increase
- Dietary Aide – increase three positions from four-hour shifts to five-hour shifts (21 hours/week)
- Housekeeping & laundry additional seven hours/week to part-time (five-hour shift to six hours)
- Addition of full-time Administrative Support position
- Enhance funding for Physiotherapy Services Contract
Hastings Manor
Program and Support Additional Funding – $ 43,250.35
- Addition of Part-time Social Worker (contract for service)
Nursing and Personal Care Additional Funding – $692,616.14
- Addition of two full-time RN positions
- Addition of four full-time PSW positions
- Addition of full-time Nurse Practitioner (contract for service)
Will apply for ministry funding - 3.63 hours of care
Other Accommodation Additional Funding – $ 394,490
- Addition of full-time Administrative Support position
- Replacement of 50-year-old desks and office furniture for ergonomically correct furniture and equipment
- Replacement of Emergency Management Equipment
- Enhance funding for Physiotherapy Services Contract
Remaining funds would be used for smaller purchases that would upgrade technology, software, and equipment.
The recommendation will be brought forward to Hastings County Council for a future meeting.
