Two people face drug charges following an early morning RIDE program by members of the Prince Edward County OPP.
The RIDE program was being conducted on Highway 62 at County Road 3 at 1:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Officers spotted a vehicle attempting to avoid the RIDE program.
As a result, two people were arrested.
Officers were able to seize a quantity of suspected cocaine, other items typically associated with drug use and trafficking, and approximately $1600 in cash.
Twenty-year-old Anthony Marini of Trenton was charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule one substance
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
Twenty-three-year-old Niah Babcock of Quinte West was charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule one substance
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 2, 2025.
