Sandercock claims first “checkered” at Brighton Speedway

( The side-by-side battle in the Bainer’s OilGARD Anti Rust Canadian Modified feature event on Saturday at Brighton Speedway resulted in a double win for # 40 Ron Wadforth.

The 57th season of stock car racing at Brighton Speedway featured a full grandstand and 69 cars on the dirt oval Saturday night.

In the Late Model Division Charlie Sandercock led a full field of 15 cars to the checkered flag in the 30 lap main event. It was the first win of the year for Sandercock.

In the 25 lap Canadian Modified feature Ron Wadforth jumped from the 7th starting position then took the lead on the 7th lap for his second straight victory.

Aiden Fletcher jumped in front with five laps to go to reach the winner’s circle in the Comp 4.

Chris Tufford went from fifth to first in the 15 lap Mini Stock division.

And Jorden Pickell wins the 12 lap Stingers race.
