Charges have been laid in Belleville, following an assault investigation.
On Sunday afternoon, police received a report of a heated exchange between and man and a woman at a north end home.
During the investigation, it was alleged that the woman was assaulted by the man.
A 38-year-old has been charged with assault and held for a bail hearing.
