Elwood Varty of Campbellford has $100,000 to put toward his dreams after winning a LOTTO MAX DREAM DRAWS top prize in the May 3, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.
It’s Varty’s first big win after playing the lottery for many decades.
The retired father of six and grandfather of nine says, “I was buying a LOTTO MAX ticket while the DREAM DRAWS were happening. I kept the ticket in the book I was reading and checked it after the draw. I took it to the clerk and the lottery machine froze. I couldn’t believe I had actually won!”
“I told my wife, and she thought it was a prank,” he laughed. “She didn’t believe it either! This win has been amazing and life-changing.”
Elwood plans to keep his windfall in savings, for the time being.
The winning ticket was purchased at RX Drug Mart on Grand Road in Campbellford.
The Tuesday, May 28 LOTTO MAX jackpot is $70 million, plus an estimated 14 $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes.
