Nine vehicles were taken out of service and a driver was charged with being impaired behind the wheel after Ontario Provincial Police conducted a commercial vehicle inspection in Madoc.
Members of the OPP’s Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team and inspectors from the Ministry of Transportation inspected 24 commercial vehicles on May 7, 2024.
Police say there were nearly two dozen charges laid for numerous offences, including impaired driving, faulty brakes, violations of the Periodic Mandatory Commercial Vehicle Inspection regulations, electronic log issues and registered weights.
