A longtime member of the Quinte Broadcasting family has passed away.
Engineer Doug Vanderwater died on Sunday in his 95th year.
Described as a wizard with anything electrical, Vanderwater repaired transmitters and microwave units, and led the company’s transition to computerization, including writing programs for the antenna arrays at Quinte Broadcasting’s transmitters sites.
A graveside service will be held today (May 8) at Moira Cemetery at 1692 Moira Road in Roslin at 3:30 this afternoon. Donations to Hospice Quinte will be accepted.
Vanderwater leaves behind three children, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
