A Deseronto man faces charges after fleeing from police after an assault on a female in Belleville’s east end Monday evening.
Officers responded at 7:20 to reports of an assault. A female was assaulted by a partner and suffered minor injuries.
The assailant took off in a vehicle but police quickly located it and stopped it. At that point the suspect ran away but was arrested after a short chase.
The 22 year old man had previously been charged with assaulting the same female and was charged with assault and three counts of breach of probation.
