One person has been charged following a serious collision in the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand.
Northumberland OPP responded to the single vehicle collision on County Road 2 between Townline Road and Herron Road at around 6:10 p.m. on Sunday.
Northumberland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) along with the Alnwick-Haldimand Fire Department also attended the scene.
A passenger vehicle went off the road.
One of the passengers in the vehicle suffered life-threatening and was subsequently airlifted to a Toronto hospital via Ornge Air Ambulance for emergency medical treatment.
The other passenger was taken to a local hospital with what was described as minor injuries.
The road was closed until approximately 2:45 a.m. on Monday as members of the Traffic Collision Investigation team helped with the investigation into the collision.
A 46-year-old from Brighton was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.
A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.
