(Golden Hawks forward Corbin Roach)
The Trenton Golden Hawks have moved another step closer to the OJHL championship series.
Undeterred by Tuesday’s overtime home loss to Cobourg in Game 3 of the OJHL East final, the G-Hawks unleashed a nine-goal barrage to clobber the Cougars 9-3 to take a 3-1 series lead.
And it was a no-doubter as Trenton led 4-0 after the first period.
Eight different G-Hawks found the mark led by Caleb Van de Ven’s two goals and assist.
Belleville native Corbin Roach added a goal and two assists.
Trenton heads home for Game 5 Friday night with a chance to close out the series and advance to the league final for the second year in a row.
