G-Hawks win in OT and take 3-0 series lead

The Trenton Golden Hawks have taken a stranglehold on their OJHL East Conference semi-final with Toronto but had to go to overtime to do it.

David Fournier scored the winer at 11:14 of OT to lift the G-Hawks past the Junior Canadiens 3-2 and into a 3-0 series lead.

One assumes it will be a goal to remember for Fournier…..or will it?

Ben Pickell (3rd) and Gianni DiVito (1st) also scored for Trenton while Ben Bonsteel stopped 34 shots.

Golden Hawks coach Derek Smith expects Game 4 in Toronto on Friday to be the toughest one yet.

A year ago Trenton also had a 3-0 lead on the Junior Canadiens but then were pushed to overtime in Game 7 to decide it.
