An update on tourism development was provided at the Belleville Economic Development Committee meeting on Thursday.
In an update provided by Tourism Sector Specialist, Michelle Lochan, it was mentioned that so far this year there have been four inquiries for hosting a festival this year, 12 applications for the Tourism Grant and five pitches for sports/events/conferences.
It also received 12 inquiries for the Pop-Ups on the Bay this year. Of the vendor spaces available, eight are for food and beverage units, four are for retail and four are for food truck spaces.
Also in production is the 2024 Visitor’s Guide, as well as an outreach strategy to attend trade shows and in-person events such as the recent Quinte RV and Boat Show, the Loyalist College Open House on April 6, and the upcoming Home Show scheduled for April 12.
