Prince Edward County has awarded a tender to construct storm water management improvements along Cold Storage Road, North Avenue, and Division Street in Picton.
The tender, valued at $345,478 plus tax, was awarded to Drew Harrison Haulage Ltd, which was the lowest bidder for the job.
A report to council by municipal staff found that the existing storm water systems in place at the three locations require upgrades. The existing storm water systems were designed to previous standards and are not able to manage current volumes of storm water.
The work will involve redesigning and rebuilding the curb, gutter, catch basins and storm drains, along with repaving the road surface. Work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
