Prince Edward County has honoured three Picton residents with civic awards after their recent achievements in arm wrestling.
During Tuesday’s council meeting, Mayor Steve Ferguson granted civic awards to Mike McKinley, Jack McAlpine and Troy Eaton.
All three competitors won awards at the 2023 Canadian Arm Wrestling Championships in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Mayor Ferguson said it was good that the arm wrestlers were bringing more attention to sport in Prince Edward County.
“One of the great parts of our job collectively as council is to recognize people in the community who make a contribution,” said Mayor Ferguson.
Eaton won two gold medals and a bronze metal, McKinley won two gold medals, and McAlpine won two gold and two silver medals.
