Trenton Food Bank has received a large donation.
Earlier this month, Trenton Care and Share Food Bank welcomed officials from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They took a tour of the facility, talked with managers and volunteers and handed over a large sum of money.
Co-manager Craig Olivier says the food bank applied to the church’s head office in Salt Lake City for a grant.
Realtor Dan Shear is the Communication Director for the local church branch and he, along with colleagues Rolf Schubert and Steve Harvey, presented a cheque for $35,000 to General Manager Craig Olivier and Manager of Strategic Initiatives Jen Koornneef, along with Board Chair John Murphy.
The money will be used to purchase food and supplies, and cover expenses to operate the food bank.
