Active cases of COVID-19 continue to drop across Hastings and Prince Edward counties although cases of flu are rising.
Thirty-three new high-risk cases were diagnosed last week, however, the active number of cases fell from 44 to 39.
There are two active outbreaks in high-risk facilities, down one.
The Hastings Prince Edward Public Health dashboard shows five additional COVID-related deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 147, however, Public Health says those deaths did not necessarily happen in the last week.
The dashboard has been updated to include missing historical deaths that have occurred since 2020.
Public Health’s respiratory dashboard show 14 new, lab-confirmed cases of Influenza A and a total of 32 current cases.
There are three institutional influenza outbreaks, down one, and three respiratory outbreaks, an increase of one.
