The Belleville Senators dug themselves into a four-goal hole and just about got out of it.
However, their comeback fell just short in a 4-3 loss to the Utica Comets.
Belleville trailed 4-0 late in the second period before goals by Kyle Betts (2nd) , Dillon Hetherington (3rd) and Egor Sokolov (12th) put them back in the game.
B-Sens head coach David Bell thought his team deserved better.
Bell was proud of the fact his team didn’t quit.
It was just the second loss in Belleville’s last ten games. On Friday, the B-Sens are in Laval before coming home Saturday to host the Rocket at 7:05 at CAA Arena.
