Ontario Provincial Police have provided an update on an incident in Napanee Wednesday afternoon.
Two people were arrested after fleeing from police.
Lennox and Addington OPP received information from Kingston Police about a vehicle they tried to stop unsuccessfully.
OPP observed the vehicle around 12:45 p.m. driving north on County Road 4 from Hwy 401.
Two people in the vehicle were wearing masks.
Police used a spike belt to try to stop the vehicle but it continued to drive into Napanee and eventually stopped at Dundas Street West and Slash Road where the two males fled on foot.
The OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit and Canine Unit assisted with a search of the area and two males were found hiding in a dumpster around 1:30 p.m.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police say the names of the accused and the charges they face will be released in the near future.
