Looking ahead to 2024, there is some important work in store for Loyalist College as officials begin formulating a new Strategic Plan.
College President and CEO Mark Kirkpatrick says the current Strategic Plan expires in 2025.
They’ll be setting the college’s direction for next five years.
“We are in regions now that are going through a really evolving economic and social change and we need to make sure that as an institution we’re here to support that change and we’re here to support our communities and that we’re making investments where we need to make them. So it’s going to be a really, really important process for us.”
Kirkpatrick says they will be conducting a lot of stakeholder engagement to make sure they get the plan right.
Remaining a priority in 2024 is the college’s continued revitalization.
President and CEO Mark Kirkpatrick says that includes the announcement of several new programs to be offered by the college and revamping current programs to make sure they meet the needs of students and employers at the Belleville, Toronto, Bancroft and Port Hope campuses.
“As well as making sure that we start to roll out some new initiatives. And, you’ll hear something towards late winter of some new initiatives that we’ve got that are still academic programming but not necessarily the post-secondary arena that will be very exciting to the communities that we exist in.”
Physical upgrades of the campus will continue and the college’s new restaurant, Nourish will also open at the Belleville campus in 2024.
