Mail thief sought
Police are hoping the public can assist in identifying a male and female who broke into a Cannifton Road apartment building and made off with mail intended for tenants, Christmas Day.
Officers were called to the location around 2:20 p.m. Monday after the culprits entered the front lobby of the address and forced open several mailboxes. One of the suspects was described as a male with a large bandage and wearing sandals. A photograph of the suspect can be seen.

Christmas Eve in a cell
A 19-year-old Belleville man spent Christmas Eve in a cell after police were called to an east end home Sunday.
Officers received information shortly after 1 p.m. that the male was breaching conditions of release in the area of Herchimer Avenue and Pine Street. Specifically, the male was in contact with a female who he was on conditions not to communicate with. The male, whose name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim, was arrested for failing to comply with a release order and held for a bail hearing.
