Over half a million dollars damage was done in an early Christmas Day barn fire in Belleville’s Thurlow ward.
The barn at 275 Boundary Road near the hamlet of Roslin contained a machine shop and was burned to the ground.
The blaze was reported around 2:30 in the morning. The cause is believed to be electrical in nature and is listed as accidental.
No one was injured and the quick response by Belleville, Tweed, Mohawk, and Tyendinaga fire departments kept the flames away from the main barn which housed over 50 dairy cows.
