A matching campaign for the Belleville General Hospital Foundation’s 2023 Christmas Angel Campaign will continue thanks to a generous donor.
Al Suba, on behalf of the Al & Andrea Suba Foundation, will match the next $35,000 in donations to BGHF’s Christmas Angel Campaign.
The Foundation says the gift comes at an important time, as community donations recently maxed out an original $100,000 match for the campaign.
“The holiday season is a time of reflection and gratitude,” said Mr. Suba. “I’m thankful for the team at Belleville General Hospital, particularly Dr. Bardell, so this is my way to show that appreciation. By making a match donation, I also hope it encourages our community to come together to make a difference in the lives of everyone who rely on our regional hospital every day.”
“We are truly grateful for this remarkable act of kindness and generosity,” said Steve Cook, Executive Director, BGHF. “Al’s donation will share the gifts of hope and health with our community this holiday season, and all year long. I encourage others to follow Al’s lead and have their own contributions matched dollar-for-dollar, amplifying the impact of everyone’s support. What a true embodiment of the spirit of giving.”
The Christmas Angel Campaign is BGHF’s largest fundraising campaign of the year, raising funds for vital equipment and developments at the hospital.
BGH serves as the centre of important regional services including Oncology, ICU and Mental Health, for more than 190,000 patients from Brighton to Napanee, Bancroft to Picton.
Community members are encouraged to make a gift in memory or in honour of a loved one who will be recognized with an Angel ornament in their name on the trees at the Quinte Mall.
Donations can be made online at bghf.ca or by contacting BGHF directly at 613-969-7400 ext. 2061.
All donations over $20 made before the end of the year will receive a 2023 tax receipt.
