The Trenton Golden Hawks continue to widen their lead in the OJHL’s East Conference.
Captain Adam O’Marra scored two goals (23) and three assists as the G-Hawks crowned the Royals 6-1 in Markham.
Cooper Matthews (4th) and David Fournier (9th) added a goal and two assists each to help Trenton extend their point streak to 15 games and extend their lead to nine points.
Ryan Nichols (7th) and Corbin Roach (14th) rounded out scoring for Trenton.
The Golden Hawks are in Buffalo Wednesday night.
Dukes 3 Stouffville 2
The Wellington Dukes did all of their damage in the second period to get past the Stouffville Spirit 3-2.
Nick DiPaulo (6th) scored what proved to be the winner at 11:22 of the second period following goals by Dimitri – Alexander Tzaferis (7th) and Cory Jewitt (15th).
With the win Wellington moves into sole possession of third place in the East. The Dukes are home to North York Tuesday night.
Provincial Junior C Hockey
In Junior C play the Amherstview Jets downed Frankford 5-1 to snap the Huskies’ seven-game winning streak.
In fact, the last time Frankford lost was November 19, also in Amherstview.
And the Campbellford Rebels are still looking for that elusive first win following a 3-2 loss to Port Hope.
