Statistics Canada reports the unemployment rate rose a tenth of a point to 5.8 per cent and the economy added a modest 25,000 jobs in November.
The agency’s labour force survey shows manufacturing and construction saw the largest gains in employment.
Locally, unemployment in the Belleville Census Metropolitan Area fell from 6.5 per cent in October to 4.9 per cent in November.
The provincial rate increased from 6.1 per cent to 6.2.
