Quinte West Council has voted to ratify a three-year agreement with more than 145 inside and outside staff.
Members of Local 799 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees ratified the deal on November 23.
The agreement includes a minimum 9.5% per cent wage increase over three years and increases to dental, life insurance, and paramedical benefits.
There are also competitive increases to vacation entitlements including the allocation of a minimum of three weeks of vacation for new hires.
In addition, both sides have entered into a letter of understanding to explore opportunities for flexible work arrangements in 2024, and the addition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to the list of paid holidays.
“The City of Quinte West is pleased to reach a positive outcome after a productive negotiation process from both bargaining committees. We appreciate the collaborative efforts by everyone at the table to ensure Quinte West continues to be a fair and competitive employer.”
