The cause of a fire late yesterday afternoon in Prince Edward County has been deemed accidental.
Crews from Fire Station 1 responded to a house fire on County Road 17 around 5:45 p.m., arriving to find a working structure fire.
It took firefighters about 15 minutes to bring the flames under control.
All occupants exited the house safely and the home had working smoke alarms.
Damage is estimated at $100,000.
Prince Edward County Fire reminds everyone to check their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to ensure they may also escape a fire.
