The Belleville Senators slipped past the Scranton Penguins 3-2 in overtime on Saturday night.
Angus Crookshank, Garrett Pilon, and Jacob Larsson scored for the Sens.
The Penguins got off to a roaring start, taking an unanswered goal and outshooting the Sens 14-6 in the first period. Despite the shaky start, the Sens came back to even the score in the second period. The Penguins took the lead back early in the third, but the Senators came back with a last minute goal to even the score again and take the game to overtime, where they got their third goal and the win.
Senators head coach Dave Bell was very happy with how his team played the second half of the game.
“I told them to stick to what we’re doing,” said Coach Bell. “If we stay within our systems and structure it’s going to come. It was really nothing inspiring, just stay with the system.”
The Senators are back in action on Wednesday, when they face the Syracuse Crunch.
