The Quinte West building statistics report is in for October.
The report, released by the municipality on Friday, shows 50 permits were approved with a combined construction value of $14 million during October this year.
The approved construction in October includes 35 apartment units, and six single detached homes.
This year’s October construction is more than double the value of October 2022’s permits, which had a total value of only $5.8 million across 43 approved permits.
One project this year accounts for $6.5 million of the value, a 34-unit residential construction project on Hillside Meadow Drive in Trenton.
Over the course of 2023 so far, 531 building permits worth a combined total of $129 million have been issued. The number of permits issued is down compared to the same time in 2022, with 673 total permits issued by the end of October. The total value of the permits issued is slightly higher compared to 2022, with 2022’s total value in October being $124 million.
So far in 2023, permits have been issued to construct 88 single detached homes, six semi-detached homes, 164 apartment units, and six townhouse units.
