The real estate market in the region remains steadfast according to the Central Lakes Association of Realtors (CLAR).
Latest stats for the amalgamated realtors organization which includes Hastings County, Prince Edward County, Northumberland County, Peterborough County, Kawartha Lakes and Durham Region, show a rise in active listings in every jurisdiction last month.
President Meredith Kennedy also reports that the sales-to-list price is consistent with averages of 94% to 101% in all areas.
In Hastings County, there were 108 sales with an average price of just over $518,000 in October.
There were 29 sales in Prince Edward County last month where the average price was almost $731,000.
Meanwhile, CLAR CEO Wendy Giroux calls the provincial government’s announcement on how they plan to eliminate their full provincial portion of the Harmonized Sales Tax on new purpose-built rentals a significant step that will help increase the housing supply in Ontario.
