UPDATE: Belleville Police say the suspect, a youth, was identified with public assistance. No other information has been released.
Belleville police are asking for the public’s help identifying a driver of a motor vehicle who failed to stop for police.
Early Thursday morning, a Belleville police officer attempted to stop an older green Honda Civic in the city’s east end for a traffic violation.
Police allege that the Civic failed to stop and was seen travelling around the city at dangerous speeds on two separate occasions.
Attempts to stop the vehicle were called off due to public safety.
Police were able to obtain a photo of the driver as part of their investigation.
