October was warmer and a lot drier than usual in the Quinte region.
According to statistics available at Environment Canada and readings taken at CFB Trenton the average high temperature last month was around 16 degrees Celsius while the usual average high for the month is 14 degrees.
The warmer average can be attributed to a heat wave in the first week of the month which featured a high of almost 30 degrees on October 4.
Meanwhile, only 39 millimetres of rain fell last month. The usual rainfall for an October in this area is more than double that at 83 mm.
