Quinte West City Council passed a motion to have city staff look into the implementation of a septic reinspection by-law for residents of Oak Lake.
This after a delegation from a member of Friends of Oak Lake, Scott Symons.
In his presentation to council, Symons outlined the group’s efforts to rehabilitate the lake, including managing an agricultural manure mishap, all the way through getting the City of Quinte West’s help regarding an agricultural tile drain.
Symons also showed a comparison of other similar septic reinspection systems in place at other municipalities.
A report on the viability of a program at Oak Lake will be brought forward at a future council meeting.
