Belleville’s Festival of Lights kicks off another holiday season Friday, November 17.
A special launch will be held that evening at Jane Forrester park starting at 5 p.m. including live music, food vendors, and of course, a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
The evening will also feature a holiday-themed drone light show (weather permitting), the first of its kind for Belleville.
There are several exciting new light installations this year including a gingerbread man, a penguin and an interactive snowman.
Attendees are encouraged to take photos with the displays and show their love by using the hashtag #BellevilleFestivalofLights.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will make appearances at the display every Friday night from Dec. 1 to 22, collecting letters and Christmas wishes before the big day.
“We are very excited to be bringing this fantastic event back to Jane Forrester Park this year,” said chair of the Lighting Display Committee, Councillor Garnet Thompson. “With the addition of food vendors Gator’s Fries and The Pink Funnel, as well as our first-ever drone show, we know this will be one of the best launch night events yet and we can’t wait to kick off the 2023-2024 season. On behalf of the committee, I would like to thank all of our generous sponsors who help make this event possible.”
The Festival of Lights runs from November 17 to January 7.
