Belleville police responded to 82 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on October 25, 2023 to 5 a.m. on October 26, 2023.
Breach of Release Conditions
On October 26, 2023 at 1:30 a.m., officers were called to a home in the city’s east end after receiving a report that several people were arguing loudly. Upon police arrival, a male fled on foot through several backyards. The male was caught a short distance away. An investigation revealed that the male had been released on bail with conditions not to be at the home and not be away from his residence between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. As a result, the 39-year-old male from Belleville was arrested and charged with breaching his release conditions. He was held for a bail hearing.
Intimate Partner Assault and Breach of Probation
On October 25, 2023 at 7 p.m., officers were called to a home in the city’s west end regarding an intimate partner dispute. Police attended and spoke to the involved parties. During the investigation, police learned that a female had been assaulted and suffered minor physical injuries. The involved male party was also on probation. As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old male from Belleville was arrested and charged with assault and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
