A construction company with ties to the Quinte area has been fined for fraudulently attaching a professional engineer’s seal to design drawings.
Standard Paving Limited is a Nova Scotia-based company run by Shane Ross, that has also done work in this region.
Last week in Kingston, the company pled guilty to two counts of breaching the Professional Engineers Act and was fined $17,500.
In August 2019, Standard Paving Limited was contracted by a homeowner to assist in rebuilding their Clarendon Station home after it had been damaged by fire.
The company copied a licensed professional engineer’s seal onto the design drawings, without the professional engineer’s knowledge or consent and then submitted those drawings to the Township of Central Frontenac in connection with a building permit application.
