Domestic Breaches
A 31-year-old Belleville man is being held for a bail hearing Friday after breaching his conditions a number of times over the past week. On Wednesday around 8 p.m., police received a report of a male who had been released to his surety and was breaching his release conditions on the same day. The male, who had been released on domestic-related charges, turned up at the home of the victim in his case, which led to a number of probation and breaches on his release conditions. He left prior to police arrival which led to an arrest warrant being issued. Thursday, officers located the male at the same residence around 4 p.m. and he was arrested and held for bail. His name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim involved in the case.
Safe Thanksgiving Weekend
For anyone travelling this Thanksgiving, the Belleville Police Service wants you to arrive at your destination safely. There are three easy ways to do this: buckle up, don’t drive impaired by alcohol or drugs and leave early so you’re not in a rush. The roads this weekend – both provincial and municipal – are expected to be full of motorists heading to see family and friends, so please take care.
