The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation has received another gift from the Royal Canadian Legion in Wellington.
Branch 160 presented a $2,000 donation to the foundation on Wednesday.
The funds were raised through the 2022 Poppy Fund campaign.
The money will be put towards the purchase of a $2.8 million CT scanner for the new hospital anticipated to open in 2027.
The current hospital does not have one and patients needing a CT scan must be transferred to another Quinte Health hospital.
Almost 2,150 patients from the County needed a CT scan in 2022.
With the gift, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 160’s cumulative giving total to the Prince Edward County hospital over the past 22 years has surpassed $20,000.
This year’s poppy campaign begins on October 27 and runs until November 11.
