The 2024 budgeting process is already underway in Quinte West.
There will be a series of staff, council and public meetings, starting this month and continuing through to January.
Public consultations are beginning via the Quinte West budget webpage here. The webpage has details about the current budget plan, including tax rates and links to budget documents, and will be updated as the budget process continues.
In addition to the information on the webpage, an online interaction portal is available on the Quinte West website here. The portal includes multiple ways to reach out to the municipal government with feedback or ideas for the budget, and a short survey which will remain open until the end of October to help council understand what residents’ priorities are.
The budget process was presented to Quinte West Council during Wednesday’s meeting. Councillor Don Kuntze encouraged members of the public to comment and give feedback through the process.
“I’m very happy that the staff have presented our budgeting process in this manner and hope we are able to keep on the timeline that is presented,” said Councillor Kuntze. “The sooner we get it finalized the sooner we can get to work.”
The process was approved to be put in motion.
