The Quinte Economic Development Commission has announced that one of its own has received a big award.
Vicki Bristow Ferguson, a Business Development Officer with the QEDC, has won the Economic Development Officer of the Year award presented by the Ontario East Economic Development Commission.
According to a release, Ferguson is credited with being a key player in bringing investment into the Bay of Quinte region including being the lead in a site selection process that has resulted in a 1.1 million square foot Amazon Distribution Centre coming to Belleville.
“Vicki is a team player with a strong appreciation for collaboration and regional development, She is the
epitome of the modern economic development professional and the Bay of Quinte Region and eastern Ontario
benefit greatly from her dedication to advancing economic development opportunities throughout the region,”
stated Jay Amer, Executive Director of the Ontario East Economic Development Commission, said in a release.
“As an active participant with Ontario East programs Vicki is a valuable member and leader well deserving of this
recognition.”
The award was presented following a government address during the Ontario East Municipal Conference in Ottawa Friday morning.
