Smoke alarms are important.
Working smoke alarms save lives and from August 28 until September 28 the Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services will be checking and replacing smoke alarms in residents’ homes.
The work is part of the city’s Saved By The Beep smoke alarm safety program.
Fire personnel will be knocking on residents’ doors to ensure smoke alarms are working properly and
installing or replacing alarms as necessary.
All homeowners must have working smoke alarms and batteries should be checked regularly.
