A stretch of York Road between Young St. and Upper Slash Road in Shannonville remains closed after a fatal accident early Sunday morning.
Tyendinaga Fire, OPP and the Hastings Quinte Paramedic Service responded to the incident shortly before 4 a.m.
A single vehicle left the road at high speed and struck a house at 93 York Road. The vehicle was severely damaged in the accident.

The man driving the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. None of the home’s occupants were injured in the crash.
The OPP are continuing their investigation.
