Staff and visitors to Hastings Prince Edward Health Unit offices can expect delays entering the locations Monday.
About 50 nursing staff working for the health unit voted to reject a final offer from their employer late last week and picket lines are going up.
The main issue for Local 31 of the Ontario Nurses Association has been wages as members say they are earning significantly less than their counterparts at hospitals and elsewhere.
The services offered by nursing staff will be disrupted for the duration of the strike.
